Assistant and Associate Professor Positions at Department of

Energy Systems Engineering


The Department of Energy Systems Engineering at DGIST (Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science & Technology, http:// invites applications for tenure-track assistant and associate professor positions.

The successful candidates will have the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of electrochemistry, polymer materials, and organic/inorganic electrical materials. The candidates will also be expected to develop a strong, collaborative, externally funded research program in the fields of fuel cells and other energy system areas of expertise may be considered.

The candidate must have earned a Ph.D. degree in closely related fields, and completed two or five years of post baccalaureate professional work experience. Salary, rank, and incentives will be commensurate with qualifications.

Criteria for selection include promise of excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching in English, potential to develop externally funded research program, leadership in technical and professional societies.

DGIST is a government-funded research-intensive higher educational institute located in Daegu, South Korea (about 1.5 hours from Seoul by Express Train). DGIST offers programs for Doctorate, Masters, and Bachelor’s degrees in the field of science and engineering. It initiated a graduate program in March 2011 and the undergraduate program in the near future to accommodate a total of 1200 students (800 undergraduate and 400 graduate students) by 2015. DGIST is pursuing an international recognition as one of the top-ranking universities in the Asia-Pacific region. To this end, it will concentrate its initial resources on education and research in the selective fields such as Brain Science, Robotics Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, and Energy Systems Engineering.
