Credit Information

Minimum and Maximum Credits per Semester

Minimum Credit Requirements for Each Program

  • 21 credits or more from regular courses

  • The maximum period to study is 3 years.
    (A leave of absence period of a year is not included.)
  • GPA should be 3.0/4.3 of higher.
Doctoral 72 credits or more
  • 36 credits or more from regular courses
  • 36 credits or more from research courses
2 semesters
  • The maximum period to study is 6 years.
    (A leave of absence period of a year is not included.)
  • GPA should be 3.0/4.3 of higher.
Integrated 60 credits or more
  • 36 credits or more from regular courses
  • 24 credits or more from research courses
4 semesters
  • The maximum period to study is 7 years.
    (A leave of absence period of 2 years is not included.)
  • GPA should be 3.0/4.3 of higher.

Recognition of Credits

Recognition of credits earned at other universities(graduate schools)
  • Credits that have been earnde at other universities (graduate schools) may be recognized through the separate procedures of each department
  • As for credits that have been earned at other universities at home of abroad, the credits for the courses that are included in the curriculum of the corresponding program are recognized up to 6 credits per semester and up to 12 credits in total.
  • Credits that have been earned at universities with which the credit exchange agreement is concluded or which are recognized by the president.
Credit transfer for the students who have transferred to the integrated MS/PhD program
  • Eligibility : Limited to the graduate students of DGIST within two semesters of completion of the program's core course requirements
  • Credits transferred : Within the range of the credits earned during the graduate program
  • Application procedures : Fill out the application for transfer to the integrated MS/PhD program and submit it to the department office after gaining approval from advisor and the department chair.
Credits earned from other programs
  • Eligibility : Student who have been admitted to a doctoral program (including DGIST graduates of the MS program)
  • Credits recognized : Up to the maximum of 33 credits
  • Application procedures : Fill out the Application for the Recognition of Credits Earned During Graduate Program For PhD students and submit it the department office after gaining approval from the advisor and the department chair.
